Amused

Today as i was sitting in my examination hall peering at the question paper not wanting to know the contents of it(because it made me sick to my stomach!). I finally took the courage to look at it and with no surprises it was something which was beyond me(because i didnt had the time to study for it i.e.physics since a day before i had my SAT exams). So with all this free time in my hand i drifted off to my own thoughts which were very random and after sometime i came back full circle with the paper in my hand thinking what to write? Then it stuck me, what do my school authorities were looking with this exam, did they wanted to know how much i understood or how well a student can mug up facts figures and formulas?
With a practical person like me it was very unfair because it tested what already has been done rather than encouraging for us to do something different. Schools follow the same old monotonic curriculum, which rather than stimulating only suppresses a students ability to be inquisitive, which is nothing more than a disappointment for a student's credentials.
Schools should look for more enthusiastic response from students which is possible only when schools introduce more professional courses rather than those rote learning ones. The change would obviously be radical but should be gradual.
In fact it is possible this practice can be changed with the help of teachers. Teachers are associated with the grass root level of working of the education system and it ultimately falls to them for the working of the curriculum for a particular class. If they were not so much concerned about their own targets of earning bonus points they could have actually taught something worthwhile to people we call 'STUDENTS.

CONCLUSION: Who am i kidding?! Nothing's gonna change here for years to come but all we can do is to attain some personal consciousness to better ourselves on our own rather than looking for support, as Rancho said in 3 idiots "follow excellence and success will follow you pants down!".
 Till then GOD BLESS INDIA!

  1. Ok..I loved the last paragraph..but what i feel is that LIVING in India, one has to get used to the monotonous way of living, everything gradually becomes monotonous..what you want is professionalism in schools where people "Ideate"..Well to be frank 6 months down the line when you'll be in a college the govt will give u all the time to be practical in life and INVENT something, however I am sure many of us would just be sitting around in a hookah bar enjoying college life..Awesome article btw!

  4. every country has its own system of educating its public. So the citizens of that country has to adopt that method and shine in their own life. The dreams and aspirations of the individual should stay intact irrespective of the method we have to go through to achieve them.
